Three Receiver Towers Topped Out at Qinghai Zhongkong Delingha 350MW Tower CSP Project
2026.10.27

On October 26, 2026, the concrete structures of the three 199-meter receiver towers were topped out at the Qinghai Zhongkong Delingha 350MW Tower CSP Project, a CSP demonstration (pilot) project supported by Cosin Solar. The milestone marked completion of the main civil works for the towers and paved the way for subsequent equipment installation.

Cosin Solar provided construction consulting and core equipment for the project. Drawing on extensive experience in large-scale CSP, the team optimized construction plans and supervised critical procedures. To tackle challenges like high-altitude winds and concrete temperature control, the team coordinated complex on-site operations, ensuring all three towers were safely and simultaneously topped out.

Moving forward, Cosin Solar will enhance construction management, efficiently complete heliostat assembly, and coordinate key workstreams—including receiver installation, the thermal storage and heat exchange system, and the main powerhouse—to ensure on-schedule, high-quality project delivery.

Located in the PV and CSP industrial zone at the Delingha Industrial Park in Qinghai Province, the project boasts the world's largest installed capacity and thermal storage capacity among all tower CSP projects currently under construction or planned. Featuring a "three towers, one power unit" configuration, it includes a heliostat field of approximately 3.15 million m² and a 14-hour molten salt thermal energy storage system. Once operational, the plant is expected to generate 985 GWh annually—enough to power about 500,000 households—while saving roughly 267,300 tons of standard coal and cutting CO₂ emissions by about 550,300 tons each year.

Once commissioned, the project will optimize the regional energy mix and enhance green power supply and reliability. It will serve as a practical reference for validating the "three towers, one power unit" design for large-capacity CSP plants. Furthermore, by advancing long-duration thermal storage and supporting the large-scale rollout of CSP, the project will set a demonstration model for China's CSP industry.
